Inaccessible content

In accordance with Article 8 of the Law on Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Device Software Solutions of Public Sector Bodies (NN 17/19) and Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2012 of the European Parliament and Council, the Faculty of Law in Split conducted an initial assessment of the compliance of its website with accessibility requirements and determined that due to disproportionate burden, certain parts are not in compliance with the aforementioned. These parts are:

  • the end user is not allowed to change the color and type of font,
  • the user is not allowed to change the color and background of the text,
  • part of the links is displayed with the text Here, More, Read, etc.
  • although most elements are designed according to the HTML5 standard, some elements are not adequately labeled to enable blind and visually impaired individuals to use assistive technology (for example, some parts of forms and documents)
  • the names of certain links should specify more precisely the content that is behind them
  • before filling out the forms, the user should be offered instructions for completion
  • some of the PDF documents are not readable by screen readers because they are provided in image form that screen readers cannot read
  • for emphasizing smaller parts of text, the strong and em elements are used (instead of b and i elements)
  • images do not have appropriate textual (alt attribute) in Croatian language and a short audio name in Croatian language
  • the size of icons in mobile applications, along with the space around them that is activated by finger touch, does not meet the minimum size requirement of 48 x 48 dp9, and the distance between these clickable elements, as well as their distance from the text, is a minimum of 8 dp
