Since the beginnings of the Faculty of Law in Split, the Dean's Office of the Faculty has been one of the most important organisational units.
Alongside the academic-teaching organisational units (chairs, institutes and seminars) are the organisational units of the Faculty:

- Library
Dean's Office of the Faculty is an internal organizational unit of the Faculty.
The Dean's Office performs professional, administrative, statistical, accounting, bookkeeping, technical and auxiliary tasks that enable the successful work of the Faculty.
The Dean leads the Faculty
The Dean chairs the Faculty Council.
In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, the Dean, on the proposal of the Faculty Council, adopts the Statute of the Faculty, organises the work and operation of the Faculty, adopts the regulation on the Organisation of Workplaces on the proposal of the Faculty Council, and performs other tasks specified by the Law, the University Statute and the Faculty Statute. A professor with the scientific-teaching title of associate professor or full professor may be elected Dean of the Faculty.
The Dean is elected by the Faculty Council, in the manner and in the procedure determined by the Faculty Statute.
The dean is elected for a term of three years. The same person may be elected dean no more than twice in a row.
The Dean is responsible for his or her work to the Faculty Council, the Senate of the University and the Praesidium of the University in accordance with the Statute of the University.
The Dean is assisted in his work by the Secretary and the Vice Deans. The work of the Dean's Office is coordinated by the Secretary General of the Faculty, while the work of the individual departments is directed by their head.
